Access:
By car from Ljubljana via Šentvid, Vižmarje and Tacen or on highway – the second exit from the direction of Ljubljana. The parking is possible at parking places in the village. You can also take a bus to the starting point – city traffic bus no. 8 – station Šmartno.

The old and usual trail of locals to Gora starts on the crossroads in Šmartno and continues through the town up to the woods and to the chapel of Tacen where it joins the Pilgrim trail.

Partisan trail
It starts right over the chapel of Tacen and steeply scales to the top of Šmarna gora. The trail was used by partisan messengers during the war, in 1955 it was arranged for the visitors. In the middle part it is quite muddy, which makes it suitable for visit especially in the dry seasons. The morning views from the bench just below the top are remarkable.
